Blended Intensive Programme:
Funding
The coordinating university receives organisational
funds (OS funds) for the organisation of the BIP. These organisational funds
are calculated as follows:
per mobility participant
10 Participants
15 Participants
20 Participants
Depending on the university and involved departments, not all OS funds are being transferred to the organising party. It is highly recommended to clarify the distribution of OS funds with all involved units before the development of the BIP.
Use of OS funds
OS funds can be used by the coordinating institution for the preparation, development and coordination of the BIP such as
- excursions
- catering
- teaching materials
- goody bags
Erasmus+ Funding for Students
Students from sending institutions need to apply for Erasmus+ Short-Term Mobility at their respective home university to cover expenses that arise during the BIP. Erasmus+ grants are not guaranteed and always depend on available funds at the home university. Moreover, universities can limit the funding period and are not required to financially cover the whole duration of the BIP (see below).
The grant amount varies at each country and is depended on national regulations (laid out by the national agencies) as well as the Erasmus+ funding call connected to the mobilities. In general, the Erasmus+ grant is sufficient for students to cover their expenses.
Erasmus+ Funding Limitations at Unite! Universities for Students
Please be aware that Erasmus+ budgets are limited at each university. Therefore, not all mobilities for students can be fully funded. Here is an overview of current Erasmus+ funding restrictions in place that have been communicated by each Unite! University (last update: July 2026). Please take these restrictions into consideration when planning a BIP and/or sending students to one.
Aalto University
Funding limited to 5 days and 5 participants. Participants can receive funding for additional travel days (min. 2 days, max. 6 days). Students who received an Erasmus+ grant for a long-term mobility cannot receive funding for a short-term mobility if the mobilities take place within the same academic year. Doctoral students are advised to apply for Erasmus+ staff funding.
Technical University Darmstadt
