Unite! VECP Architecture Engineering consists of online courses in the field of architecture and civil engineering. These courses are available for Unite! students to expand their selection of courses as well as to gain knowledge and experience on how to interact and study in an international setting.
Background information
This VECP intiative started in 2020 with the initial idea of academics from Aalto University, Politecnico di Torino and TU Darmstadt to develop co-operative teaching programmes. Using the VECP Energy as a model, the three universities have offered a VECP in Architecture Engineering as a pilot project from the winter semester 2021.

The process - for academics/admin
In a first step, related courses in the field of architecture and civil engineering are provided by the respective partner universities. The information on the individual courses contains the following details: Course title, faculty, credits, brief summary of the content, specific requirements for participation, course dates, synchronous/asynchronous, exam format, number of available positions for U! students, name and email adress of course supervisor, additional information/weblink.
The information is collected 3-6 month before the start of the courses - depending on the university and its semester dates.
The process / How to apply - for students
Once the courses are published, students can apply. This is done in a two-stage process. Firstly, students apply to their home universities and are nominated to the host institutions. Students will then receive information about the second application to be filled-in at the host institution.
After successfully applying to the host institution, students are enrolled at the host institution. They will have to register for the selected courses before the semester starts.
Students should contact their home university in advance to obtain information about possible recognition of CPs for the courses.
Current state
A group of dedicated academics from several Unite! partners now meets regularly to develop an attractive virtual programme for students.
