VECP Energy

Master courses in the field of Energy

Unite! VECP Energy consist of energy-related online courses from our partner universities. These courses are available for Unite! students to expand their selection of courses as well as to gain knowledge and experience on how to interact and study in an international setting.

Background information

The initiative to open virtual courses at the individual partner universities to all Unite! students started as a quick response to the pandemic in 2020. The idea was to keep student mobility alive in some way. In a very short time, processes were set up at the individual universities so that a course collection could already be offered for the fall/winter semester 2020/21. The administrative processes for this virtual exchange are based on regular student mobility and have proven to be successful.

The process - for academics/admin

In a first step, energy-related courses are collected from the respective partner universities. The information regarding the individual courses should contain the following details: Course title, faculty, credits, brief summary of the content, specific requirements for participation, course dates, synchronous/asynchronous, exam format, number of available positions for U! students, name and email adress of course supervisor, additional information/weblink.

The information is collected 3-6 month before the start of the courses - depending on the university and its  semester dates.

The process / How to apply - for students

Once the courses are published, students can apply. This is done in a two-stage process. Firstly, students apply to their home universities and are nominated to the host institutions. Students will then receive information about the second application to be filled-in at the host institution.

After successfully applying to the host institution, students are enrolled at the host institution. They will have to register for the selected courses before the semester starts.

Students should contact their home university in advance to obtain information about possible recognition of Credit Points for the courses.

In each academic year there are 2 calls, one in the fall/winter semester and one in the spring/summer semester.
